Viação Nossa Senhora da Penha

On March 30, 1931, Mr. Francisco José Lobo Netto, corporate name of the company, attended the Concessions Inspectorate of the Federal District, where he signed an obligation term, committing himself to establish a regular transportation service passengers by means of "auto-docks", connecting Penha to Madureira.

This line would follow the following itinerary: Penha Station, Braz de Pina, Quitungo and Monsignor Félix roads, to Madureira Station, both on the way and the way back.

This was the sectioning of the line: from Penha Station to Praça do Carmo, $ 200 (two hundred réis); from Praça do Carmo to Estrada do Quitungo, corner of Vila da Penha, $ 200 (two hundred réis); from Irajá Station, $ 200 (two hundred réis); from Irajá Station to Vaz Lobo, $ 200 (two hundred réis) and from Vaz Lobo to Madureira Station, $ 200 (two hundred réis).

Already on June 16, 1932, the same Francisco José Lobo Netto, owner of the Viação Nossa Senhora da Penha, signed a transfer agreement, by which he "handed over and transferred" to Mrs. Henriqueta Xavier Lobo, the company's new corporate name.

In a note published in the Jornal do Brasil, which in June / 1934 Mrs. Henriqueta was still the owner of the company.

In August 1935, another note from the same newspaper mentioned a fine addressed to Viação N. S. da Penha, for not complying with the schedules of the line Penha x Carmo Square. Here, the original route, which was to Madureira Station, had been greatly reduced.

This bus, whose mechanics is of the brand International, belonged to the company N. Sª da Penha, whose concession, of 1931, was granted to Francisco Lobo Netto. The bus traveled along the Penha-Madureira line (Rio de Janeiro).

The photo shows a bus from Viação Nossa Senhora da Penha in 1976. The vehicle has Mercedes mechanics and Metropolitan bodywork, and travels through the streets of the Rio suburb. I used to walk the Cascadura-Nova Iguaçú line.
