Tivoli Karolinelund is an Amusement park built on what was originaly swamp land. The military ruled the area, in 1824 they drained the swamp and turned the area into a garden. Building a Pavillion and garden area for military men to enjoy. After a visit by visited by Prince Ferdinand and Princess Caroline . The area was named after Princess Caroline. It was originaly spelled with a C being changed later. In 1946the land became owned by the Lund family. First the brothers Volmer and Carl Lind, who established the amusement park, and then Franck Bo Lind, who in 2006 sold to Torben "Træsko" Pedersen , who also owns, among other things, The circus revue and several rides on Dyrehavsbakken north of Copenhagen . In 2007 Torben "Træsko" sold the park to Aalborg Municipality on 23 January 2007 for half the price he paid. . Aalborg Municipality established Karolinelund as a city park – a green and recreational area for the city's citizens and tourists, and with a wide range of rides, eateries and entertainment.
