Comment
The motto on this token alludes to the Bossuet coat of arms: "Azure, three golden wheels, set two and one".
The Bossuet family (sometimes spelled "Boussuet") has been known in Burgundy since 1353, and held the first offices of Parliament from the mid-15th century. Claude Bossuet, councillor to Parliament, seigneur d'Aiserey, was elected mayor on June 21, 1647. He was re-elected in June 1648. He is the son of Jacques, mayor in 1613 and 1614.
