Comment
Advertising token offered by Reader's Digest magazine, 1983-84.Imitation of a gold ducat minted between 1745 and 1765 by the Austrian Empress Marie-Thérèse, in the name of François-Étienne de Lorraine, her husband.
Differences from the real coin:
- the 1 of 1752 is upside down (not easy to see)
- Between the E of DOMINE and the first S of SPES: trace of a metal casting jet or vent, also between TU and Domine (depends on the coin).
- The ducat is 3.45g, the token around 2.24g.
- The diameter is 20.15mm vs. 21mm for the original.
- On the character side, the bottom of the shoulder garment touches the edge on the copy, on the real one it is clearly separated from it.
