At the beginning of the 20th century, Georges Turpault, a spinner from Cholet, bought an old house and adjoining land on the Pointe de Beg-er-Lann, southwest of the Côte Sauvage on the Quiberon peninsula. He commissioned contractor Hippolyte Jamet to build an Anglo-Medieval-style château, which he dubbed "le château de la mer". Construction took place between 1904 and 1910. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C3%A2teau_Turpault
