Pierre Le Marchant is Esquire and bears Argent, a chevron Gules, between three roses Gules, two and one. Two localities named Saint-Manvieu exist: Saint-Manvieu-Bocage (canton of Saint-Sever-Calvados, Calvados) and Saint-Manvieu-Norrey (canton of Tilly-sur-Seulles, Calvados). Pierre Le Marchant is also seigneur of Le Rozel (canton of Les Pieux, Manche). He founded a French Ode at the Puy du Palinod in Caen, with a prize of 100 silver tokens in a green velvet purse. He died in Caen, where he is buried in the Cordeliers church. He is the last male of this branch. The finance office of a generality consisted of seven people: five general treasurers of France (two for the estate, two for aids and taxation, one treasurer), a clerk and a bailiff. The institution fell into deep disuse in the 17th and 18th centuries: another French treasurer was famous in Caen, La Bruyère, who in twelve years only came on the day of his reception.
