Lake Annecy is a lake in France located in the Alps, in Haute-Savoie, in the region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. By its surface, it is the second lake of glacial origin in France after the Bourget lake, very close, and except for the French part of Lake Geneva. The lake was formed at the end of the Würm glaciation, i.e. during a period between 17000 BC and 15000 BC, corresponding to the progressive melting of the great Alpine glaciers. It is fed by seven streams and torrents, born in the surrounding mountains and a powerful sub-lake spring. The basin is framed to the north by the agglomeration of Annecy, to the east by the massif des Bornes, to the west by the massif des Bauges and to the south by the country of Faverges which extends the Bout-du-Lac. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lac_d%27Annecy
