The letters DTC could stand for Desandrouin, Taffin and Croy, the first two operators and the third owner of the land. After 1757, the Fresnes mines were merged with those of Aniche. A very fine example with an attractive green patina.
The numismatics of the mines was the subject of a study by Jules Florange in 1904. He listed numismatic material relating to mines: medals, attendance tokens, necessity tokens or fiduciary coins, mine superintendents' tokens. Another remarkable work was carried out by the Association des Collectionneurs de Jetons-Monnaie in 1999.
