Comment
Edme Bouchardon (French, 1698–1762). There still exists a drawing of the reverse design which is entitled 'PROJET DE JETON POUR L'EXTRAORDINAIRE DES GUERRES, 1759'. The reverse lettering is part of a quote 'Pacis Tutela Decusque Partes Erumpit in Omnes' translated as 'All the beauty of it breaks out in the Care of Peace'.EXTRAORDINAIRE DES GUERRES: This administration managed the funds used for all campaigns and ad hoc troops as opposed to ordinary wars.
Signed: R. FILIUS (Roettiers Fils, signature of Charles-Nobert Roettiers, engraver-general of the coins)
