The King's journey to Reims for his coronation lasted almost a month (October 16 - November 8, 1722).
The young Louis XV was crowned in Reims on October 25, 1722. He came of age (13) the following year, and was declared of full age at the lit de justice of February 22, 1723. This put an end to the Regency of the Duc d'Orléans. From then on, Louis XV governed personally, taking over the Grand Council.

This is the official token of Louis XV's coronation, which was distributed to the population present at the ceremony outside Reims Cathedral. The bust is the work of Joseph-Charles Roëttiers.
