Assembled in Loudun in 1620, the Huguenots demanded the revocation of the Council's decree that restored their property to the clergy of Bearn. Louis XIII, believing that it was necessary to go to them, went to Pau. It was in the courtyard of the castle that the magistrates asked him for forgiveness for having refused the edict. On October 19, the King swore to respect the privileges of the province before the States convened for this purpose, who, for their part, took an oath of loyalty. On the same occasion, he decided to make the reunion of Bearn and Navarre to the crown effective. It is this re-established order that celebrates this token.
