The Société des Jeunes Ouvriers, which still exists today, was founded in 1849 by Abbé Louis Risse. This work was interrupted by the Germans from 1874 to 1881.
The aims of the society were: physical and moral education, sports, military training, artistic training, instrumental music and amateur theater.
The society's tokens are all meal tokens, which were used until 1979 at the latest.
