This water token was used by the town of Jagersfontein in the Orange Free State province of South Africa. Tokens of this type were used between 1913 and 1926 , according to Hern's Handbook on South African Tokens by Brian Hern and Allyn Jacobs (Second Edition, 2009). The token appears as number 294a in that volume, on page 138. Varieties are said to exist.
