Izbrana kakovost (abbreviation IK) is Slovenian national food quality scheme, introduced by Slovenian Ministry of Agriculture in 2017, special project of minister in charge at the time - Dejan Židan, but put forward thru economic interest associations of specific producers branches. The scheme is set up as quality scheme and has absolutely no regard for safety. All quality parameters are minimally set above the European Union legal standards (or are the same), by which it is clear, that the scheme was set up for sole purpose of promoting Slovenian origin of food. As a national scheme every operator has to be certified and this extra price is being charged to consumer. In overall it was also clear, that the largest financial cake went to producers (not to primary sector), which was probably agreed long before with the Ministry, as the minister himself came from production sector. This quality scheme represents in it self everything bad and good, with regard to Slovenia falling behind on the European Union average on such schemes for almost 20 years. Well, better late than ever...Token in the original hanger:
