IUV stands for Industrija usnja Vrhnika, an ex Slovenian company which was stationed in the city of Vrhnika. Up to the beginning of the 21st century city of Vrhnika was considered as the center of the Slovenian leather industry. In 2008, the leather industry of Vrhnika (IUV), with more than 600 employees, remained the largest European leather factory.
