Noticeable in the words ‘Mileage-Metered’, with narrow openings in the letter e. It’s also noticeable by the spacing between the dot of the i inside the ‘O’ below HYVIS and the adjacent letters.
Harry Lewis, general manager of the Warren refinery from 1924 to 1929, when it was purchased by industrialist Harry Ford Sinclair, was among the first to employ foam for fire-fighting in Pennsylvania. He would travel to nearby refineries to see their fires and see the HYVIS crews help suppress them.
