The Great British Fun Run, a health promotion campaign organised by the Health Education Council, took place in May and June 1985. A relay race over 2200 miles was complemented with a series of health festivals both on and off the route in England, Scotland and Wales. The campaign was evaluated in three ways — surveys among the general public; a survey of health education personnel involved in health festivals; and a conference of health education and HEC staff.
