GLENVIL PRESS & COIN AUTOMATICSHull, Yorkshire
J. Lennard, sole proprietor
Business started in 1942 by Mr, Lennard. Involved in Electronic Engineering and publishing. In 1946 began making parts for amusement machines and publishing colour prints and fruit bands for fruit machines. By I960 were well known in the trade for having produced the largest selection of fruit bands. Shortly after the I960 Gaming Act went into effect, began designing and manufacturing their own fruit machines. They began issuing tokens in 1964 and their tokens are the only ones known that have a date on the token. All of the tokens were designed by Mr. Lennard. Their machines were used in both public establishments and in private clubs. The company did not plan to issue any new types of tokens and did not plan to convert their machines to use coins of the realm. None of the tokens were exported although machines were. The company's business activities included the design and manufacture of fruit machines and accessories, printing fruit bands and other items for coin and token operated machines, multi colour processes on metal, glass and card, embossed metallic seals, labels and bingo tickets.
