This medal, executed by the engraver Charles Trotin, was probably given as a souvenir to visitors who had paid to climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower, built under the direction of the engineer Gustave Eiffel (1832-1923), for the 1889 World's Fair.It comes from Gustave Eiffel's Parisian metallurgical factory in Levallois-Perret.
