Comment
This bronze medal was included by the US Mint in special “Souvenir Sets” issued at the Philadelphia and Denver mints in 1982, 1983, and other years following that sporadically.
Per the Red Book: “Uncirculated Souvenir sets were packaged and sold in gift shops at the Philadelphia and Denver mints in 1982 and 1983 in place of the ‘official Mint sets,’ which were not made in those years. A bronze Mint medal is packaged with each set. Similar sets were also made in other years and sold at several locations." (page 373, 2024 edition)
