Lánchíd bárca (Chain Bridge token)
Those who intended to cross the Chain Bridge were given a token in exchange for cash, which was then handed over on the other side, proving that the amount demanded had indeed been paid at a customs house on the other bank.
The “bárca” word means token, jeton, this is an old hunagarian word, not in use anymore. It was used for crossing the Budapest Chain Bridge, and this was the first type. After almost every year the issued new types. Until 1866 they used the “néma-bárca”, thats mean silent, because was no text on it, just value.
The number 3: everyone had to pay different value to cross the bridge, depending on the amount of baggage, cattle, carriage, cart, etc.
