ONE MEDALLION, TWO FINISHES! The special medallion features two versions of the well-known maple leaf motif, which has graced Canadian bullion coins since 1979: with numismatic proof finish on the reverse, and with reverse numismatic proof finish on the obverse! The gold Maple Leaf was the first bullion coin to feature this motif. Silver and platinum versions were launched in 1988, followed by the palladium Maple Leaf in 2005.
-ENHANCED FINISHES! The medallion doesn't feature the usual radial lines of bullion products; instead, its design is enhanced with finishes used on numismatic coins.
-The Royal Canadian Mint has always strived to produce the purest, most innovative bullion coins in the world. The latest generation of Gold Maple Leaf and Silver Maple Leaf bullion coins is also the safest in the world, thanks to a number of security and quality features not found on any other bullion coin.
-Over 200 million ounces of Silver Maple Leaf bullion coins have been sold since 1988.
-In 2007, the Royal Canadian Mint created the world's first 99.999% pure gold bullion coin, the highest level of purity in the world.
-The current generation of Maple Leaf coins feature a background striped with radial lines, and are not offered with a numismatic proof finish.
-Bullion coins are usually purchased to invest in precious metals whose value closely tracks the spot price. These coins generally have very high mintage and are produced much faster than numismatic coins. The Royal Canadian Mint's Maple Leaf bullion products are sold through a network of dealers worldwide.
