Token from Marcel (or Michel) Fischbach and Anne Weitz's Café, located at 31-33 Allée Scheffer in Luxembourg City. Allée Scheffer runs alongside the Glacis field, hence the name GLACIS on the right. The 8-shaped countermark alludes to Erwin Artmann (Acht = eight). According to Weiller, Mr. Artmann was Mrs. Weitz's successor. However, the extract from the firm register dated October 22, 1910, lists Mr. Artmann as Mrs. Weitz's first husband. This establishment minted an identical token in yellow copper (Weiller# ML 386).
Café Weitz was later renamed "Café Trianon".
Le Glacis is the largest open-air parking lot in Luxembourg City. This square is best known for its "Schueberfouer", one of Europe's biggest funfairs. The Schueberfouer was created in 1340 by Jean l'Aveugle, Count of Luxembourg and King of Bohemia.
