Token not listed in R. Weiller's two books.

Token from the establishment of Othon or Otto Bourkel and Catherine Ley, located at 2, place des Martyrs in Strassen.
Otto Bourkel, also a depositary, acquired the café from his predecessor Robert Groff-Leclerc in 1931.
He kept the establishment until 1936. In that year, he bought the Café Reiser in Luxembourg City from the widow Joh. Reiser-Weis.
At the end of WW2, a special court sentenced Otto Bourkel to 5 years' imprisonment and stripped him of his Luxembourg nationality.

Weiller type token no. 29, ordered via the intermediary Adam Lennig and minted between 1920 and 1939 at the Fisch & Cie workshop in Brussels. The Bourkel-Ley café token was therefore issued between 1931 and 1936.
