During the night of September 29 to 30, 1820, a miracle happened in Paris [1].. In the midst of the energetic acclamations of the Parisian public - certainly carefully mounted by the municipal authorities, which does not mean that they were totally insincere - Caroline, duchess of Berry, gave birth to a son, Henri Charles Ferdinand Marie Dieudonné d'Artois, duke of Bordeaux and, for a few days in August 1830, Henri V, putative king of France. This birth, we know, owed its miraculous character to the fact that the father of the little prince, the duke of Berry, had died, victim of the bonapartist Louvel, not less than seven and a half months earlier, on February 14.
