Auto Diesel is a Brazilian urban public transport company in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

It emerged in the 1930s and began to expand in the 1960s, incorporating small bus companies of the era. In the middle of the 80's the businessman Nenê Constantino bought the company and for her transferred part of the buses of its companies throughout the country, especially of São Paulo in the case of the urban and the Riviera road in the case of the road. Proof of this is that the company had a fleet with the most varied type of chassis and bodies passing through Mercedes monoblocs, Scania and Mafersa. In the same decade of 80 the company incorporated the Viação Paraense that made the lines that later were operated by Breda Rio.

At the end of 1993 Nenê Constantino decides to sell it and to distribute it. He divided it into 3: Vila Real, Auto Diesel and Breda Rio. Vila Real came from lines he sold to businessman Jacob Barata, Breda from lines that were from Paraense and were sold to it, while Auto Diesel with the rest. In mid-1996 he sells the company to Breda Rio, which revitalizes the company. In 1999 Auto Diesel incorporated and managed Viação Via Rio. In 2010, a bid was held to reorganize the bus lines in Rio de Janeiro. Auto Diesel, Breda Rio and Via Rio were prevented from participating in the bidding process. Both were merged to form City Rio, which also started to operate a large part of the lines belonging to these three companies.
