This token is struck by Pichard Balme in Saumur, a subsidiary of Arthus Bertrand since its takeover in 1999.
L'Ange au Sourire, also known as Sourire de Reims, is a statue sculpted around 1240. It stands to the left of the north portal on the west façade of Reims Cathedral. It became famous during the First World War, when it was damaged by bombing and fire: before and after photographs were widely reproduced and distributed, making the statue one of France's most famous medieval sculptures.
