On the obverse is probably a broken letter E so REG looks like RLG lettering.A beautiful token for the regency of Anne of Austria, mother of Louis XIV. This token must date from 1666, the year of his death.

ANNE OF AUSTRIA - (22/09/1601-25/10/1666)
Anne of Austria, the daughter of Philip III of Spain and Margaret of Austria. She was born September 22, 1601. Betrothed to Louis XIII in 1612, whom she married in 1615. She cleared a life of her husband so much that Alexander Dumas lent him an affair with the Duke of Buckingham, favorite and premier Jacques I, and Charles I of England, during the visit of Minister role to negotiate the marriage of Charles with Henrietta Maria of France. War broke out with Spain in 1635 and is charged with maintaining a correspondence with his brother and educate opponents of France in 1637. Pregnant after 23 years of marriage, she gave birth to 37 years, on September 5, a boy, Louis, the future Louis XIV. She even gave birth to Philip in 1640.
