Monument to highly decorated slovenian solder Andrej Čehovin, who has risen to the rank of Captain in Austrohungarian Army, was erected in his birth village of Gornja Branica in the year 1898, the same year as Austrohungarian Emperor Franz Joseph I. had reached 50 years. After the first world war the village has been under Italian rule, which had great negative impact on local population. There for in year 1926 locals decided to bury Čehovin's monument, so that fascist rule would not destroy it. Precious monument had somehow came to light after 61 years in 1987. In 1998, at 100th anniversary of raising the monument, local society of Gornja Branica decided to mint this token.Mora about Andrej Čehovin:
