Manufactured by the Whitehead & Hoag Company, which was founded in 1892 by Benjamin S. Whitehead and Chester R. Hoag in Newark, New Jersey, United States. Whitehead & Hoag was a "dominant player" in the button manufacturing industry. Despite being purchased by Bastian Bros. (Rochester, New York, United States) in 1959, the trade-name Whitehead & Hoag remained in use until 1965.Source: http://medallicartcollector.com/whitehead-hoag.shtml
