In 1984, Georges Durst, the king of Montreal nightclubs, founded La Cage aux Sports during the rivalry between the Montreal Canadiens and the Quebec Nordiques, offering the first big-screen broadcast of the games. La Cage aux Sports was bought by Jean Bédard in 1995 (100% Canadian).
