Tokens were issued to miners for safety:
- green was issued after passing safety instructions
- yellow for 1-2 violations
- red for repeated violation within one month or one gross. In a subsequent violation, the miner quit
- white for mine management and inspectors
The miner was obliged to wear tokens in a prominent place of special clothing (there are 2 holes for sewing). A plate with a miner's number was attached to a token.
In practice, the tokens did not survive and quickly ceased to be used for their intended purpose.
