This is a token issued by the Premier (Transvaal) Diamond Mining Company (Proprietory) Limited in South Africa for use by mine workers in the company canteens and other facilities.It is listed in Hern's Handbook on South African Tokens (Second Edition 2009) as #450l on page 210. According to the listing this is the 3 Pence from the second set of tokens issued by the company.
The Premier Diamond Mining Company was founded in 1903 to exploit the Premier Mine in the town of Cullinan, South Africa. This is where the well-known Cullinan diamond was found.
