https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaspenning :Another type of gas token are zinc gas tokens of 2½ cents, 10 cents, 25 cents and 1 florin. They were manufactured in 1942, at the request of several municipalities where gas meters operated with ordinary coins were in use, to replace the copper and silver coins confiscated by the German occupying forces. The new zinc war coins were of a different size, so did not fit into the coin meters. The zinc tokens were produced by the Royal Dutch Mint to a design by Nico de Haas and have the dimensions of the old 2½-cent, 10-cent, 25-cent and 1-gulden coins, so they fit into the existing counters. On the reverse, they bear the corresponding denomination in cents, with the word "GAS" (or "ELECTRICITY" if it's an electricity token) underneath. On the obverse, they bear the name of the municipality that issued the coins above the central text "GAS", surrounded by four flames. On the electricity tokens, the word "ELECTRICITY" appears in the center, with three lightning bolts above and below. Tokens were also used for gas and electricity meters. These were given a design that was a combination of the two tokens.
