Pressed penny from museum of King Henry VIII's flagship - situated in Portsmouth dockyard, Southern England.
The Mary Rose was the flagship of Henry VIII’s navy, which he had built when he came to the throne in 1509. Construction began in 1510, and the ship was finally launched in 1511. The wreck of the Mary Rose was discovered and then raised from the sea bed in the Solent in 1982. The Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard is now its home, along with thousands of her artefacts
