Edouard Thinnes (or Thines), a farmer and former blast furnace worker at the Hadir factory, and his wife Thérèse Thill took over the business in February 1939. Following his wife's death in 1949, Edouard Thinnes continued to run the café until 1952.Weiller type token no. 13, minted between 1918 and 1949 at the Fisch & Co workshop in Brussels. The Thinnes-Thill café token can therefore be dated between 1939 and 1949.
R. In his first book, Weiller points out the typing error in Edouard Thin(n)es's surname. In fact, the name Thinnes is initially spelt with a single N. This changed over time, however, and a second N was added. The couple's children also bear the name Thinnes.
