World War II will be remembered in the history of the Jewish people, both for the genocide, of which they were victims, as well as for the heroism of the Jewish fighting man. About1.5 million Jewish soldiers fought in allied ranks and partisan units. They fought in Europe and in the Pacific and participated in the occupation of Germany. An equal number fought in
