Comment
Brown: The engraver seems to have spent a considerable time in experimenting with various forms of decoration on these medals. Some specimens are gilt only on the obverse, some are gilt only in a circular ring on the obverse or reverse whilst others show gilding or silvering in the form of a pyramid. Examples also occur struck in Barton's metal, in this instance, silver layered on to brass on the obverse.
