Shell: Traum-Elf 1969 promotional coins. The tokens in this set were available from Shell petrol stations in West Germany for customers who purchased 15 litres or more; 1 token per transaction for the length of the promotion. Two types of collector board were available to display the set, showing two of the main football formations of the late 1960's; the traditional 2-3-5 (Pyramid) formation, and the 4-2-4 (Brazilian) formation.
A total of 17 tokens can be placed on the collector board: 11 players in the main line-up with 6 substitutes. The back of each board gives additional information about each player (DOB, club, date of the first cap for Germany and opposing team).
17 tokens were produced alongside the collector boards, with additional tokens released during the promotion.
