A satirical masonic medal, one of a class known as Spottdukaten (Mockery Ducats). The medals of this variety are said to have been minted in the early 1740s by the then-bishop of the Moravian Church, Nicolaus Zinzendorf, as a mockery of masonic tokens that had been circulating at the time of his bishopric. These medals were minted in both silver and gold.
