Comment

The obverse bears the HR inscription, which marks Herman Roth, the son of Christian Herman Roth. After the death of his father, Herman became an engraver in Körmöcbánya (Kremnica) in 1690. When he was appointed, the Chief Chamber Officer of Selmec emphasized his foreign training and his ability to design medals. In 1695 he left for Boroszló (Wroclaw), so he performed only in Körmöcbánya between the two dates.
