- Prince Kamal el Dine Hussein, as President of the Royal Agricultural Society, incentivized farmers to increase production, especially of cotton, through the awarding of these massive gold medals. The Prince also encouraged scientific research related to agriculture and authorized the construction of a museum in Al Jazira dedicated to cotton.
