Comment

Robert Schuman (1886-1963), French statesman. As French Foreign Minister he laid the plan for the joint management of German and French heavy industry. The “Schuman Plan” led to the founding of the European Coal and Steel Community (Montan Union).
This became the nucleus of today's EU. Schuman later became president of the European Parliament
