The medal was created posthumous in the 1860s.Gottfried Bernhard Loos (1774-1843), one-time General Warden of the Prussian Mint, a medal die maker and designer of coins and medals. Moreover, he was given the title of Prussian Court Medalist and was made a member of the Berlin Academy.
