Comment
Allegory alluding to the motto of the Duke of Savoy on a shield from 1588, with a centaur throwing an arrow and trampling a royal crown as body and Opportune as soul ("À propos"), and to the exchange of the Marquisate of Saluces for the provinces of Gex, Bresse, Bugey and Valromey at the Treaty of Lyon (1601).The reverse is somewhat different, with two P's for OPPORTUNIUS and the engraver's name abbreviated. The design is also different, with Hercules turned to the right.
