The Ministry of Labor and Social Security medal was instituted in 1948 (DECREE no. 48-852 of May 15, 1948), before the words were replaced on the reverse in 1974 by Ministry of Labor.
It comprises 4 levels: Silver, Vermeil, Gold and Grand Gold.
