From a series of 10 medals issued by the Paramount International Coin Corporation commemorating the 25th anniversary of the coronation of HRM Queen Elizabeth II. The medals have a common obverse of Her Majesty at her coronation in 1953, with the reverses depicting the 10 "beasts" or "armorial bearings" associated with the throne.The reverse designs were commissioned by Paramount specifically for this collection from engraver and artist Michael Rizzello, OBE. The images of the 10 beasts are based on statues by James Woodford created for Her Majesty's coronation in 1953 which guarded the entrance to Westminster Abbey during the coronation and now appear in Kew Gardens, London.
All 517 sets are made of .925 sterling silver; some of the medals were issues in a "deluxe gilt edition" plated in 24-karat gold.
