Rufford Abbey is in Rufford, Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom, and was founded by Cistercian monks in the late 12th century, with most of the buildings dating to 1170. With Henry VIII's Dissolution of the Monasteries in the 1530s, the abbey was shut down and it was later converted in the 17th century into a mansion and part of Rufford Country Park.
