In the center, between two laurel branches forming a wreath, an old mineral spirits lamp created by Charles Pigeon, who developed its manufacture for domestic lighting.
The words "Grand Prix Hanoi" refer to the Hanoi Exhibition (Indochina) held from November 1902 to January 1903.
