Comment

Nicholas of Flüe, born in 1417 in Sachseln and died on 21 March 1487 in the same town, was a Swiss ascetic and is considered the patron saint of Switzerland. In 1467, he left his wife and children and became a hermit, and was venerated shortly after his death.
